An Exciting Journey . . .
Destiny Community Church was founded in February of 1999 by Dr Jim and Jeanni Davis of Christian International Apostolic Network, which is based in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
A Lutheran Church provided the first setting for our meetings which were held on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 PM. After four months, we moved to the facilities of Church of the Savior and changed our meeting time to 7:00 PM.
During this season, our School of the Holy Spirit played an important role in expressing our desire to train and release God's people in the ministry of the Gifts of His Holy Spirit. These meetings were held the first and third Fridays of each month.
In December of 1999, God favored us again as we were able to lease the lower level of a building on South Ashland Ave in the Chevy Chase area. This allowed us to move the meeting time for our main service to 10:30 AM and to add additional meetings to our schedule.
By the Fall of 2000, we began to outgrow our South Ashland facility and were actively seeking another location. In of April 2001, God blessed us to lease a vacant church facility on Bryan Station Road (the former First Church of the Nazarene). Our first service in the new facility was on Easter Sunday morning.
In March of 2003, we leased a storefront in a marketplace district of Lexington and spent the next 3 months completely renovating the interior to suit the needs of a growing church body.
